War of the Thorns

The War of Thorns aka the Burning of Teldrassi was a very heart breaking and critical point in the battle between the Horde and the Alliance. When the rare crystallized blood of Azeroth also known as Azerite started to from after its battle with Sargerus (Biggest Badest Boss responsible for most of the horrors that the world faces) This cause the Horde to fear the Alliance as they were afraid of the potential weapons that couldve been created from it. As such the WarChief Leader of the Horde Sylvanas Windrunner started to plan to capture Teldrassi and Darnassus to occupy and control the Azerite flow which the Alliance currently had control of.

The players for the Horde side were responsible for Capturing hostages and forcing the main forces that occupied those lands to charge out to save the hostages. Then they were responsible for slaying Malfurion Stormsage who was to the Alliance a figure they greatly trusted and respected, who to them was a Figure of Hope. On the other side of the specturm the Alliance had to do reconissionce of the strange events that were occuring in the area of Teldrassi which was at the time a spawn point for the alliance's elves as such it had a significant symbolism to them. Eventually they had to stay in the city and thats when the NPC and Player fllled armies stormed the cities. The Horde players had the advantage of the amount of NPC's they had along with just being better prepared overall. While on the other hand The Alliance players had to protect the city from the many enemys that had stormed the gates.

This event also was the set up for the most recent DLC The Battle For Azeroth DLC as such it played a heavy pivot on how the story wouldve progressed from then on and the eventual all out slugfest that was Battle For Azeroth.
